Excerpt from Executive Director’s Report:
Greetings and Salutations,
I am pleased to present the accomplishments of the Mervyn Dymally African American Political & Economic Institute at the California State University, Dominguez Hills (MDAAPEI) for the 2019-2020 year. The second year of our five year strategic plan was filled with fantastic highs and challenging lows, as a global contagion took priority over the lives and safety of our campus community and some tragic racial events around the country laid bare a 400 year old scar on the nation’s conscience. It is upon this backdrop, in which we draw the context of the operating environment of the Institute and the achievements of our programming activities for the year. Despite the environmental circumstances beyond our control, the Dymally Institute experienced a very exciting and accomplished year.
